BYD was established on November 18, 1994, headquartered in Shenzhen, Guangdong Province. Its business spans four major industries, i.e., automobile, electronics, renewable energy, and rail transit. It is among the Fortune 500 companies, and listed both on Hong Kong and Shenzhen Stock Exchanges. BYD’s Indonesian auto plant will be located in "Subang Smartpolitan", with an annual production capacity of 150,000 vehicles, covering an area of more than 208 hectares, and production is set to commence in 2025.
